Just when we think we’ll run out of things to say about Poland’s favourite pastime – eating desserts – we find a spot like Café Kofeina and feel re-inspired. The space itself doesn’t especially distinguish the place; the walls are red, the posters are Art Deco, the booths are large. Where Kofeina excels, however, is in desserts (try the tiramisu, you’ll thank us) and a hands-off style of service that encourages lingering over coffees without guilt. The attached smoking room is a huge draw and will delight folks who can’t imagine espresso without the complementing cigarette, and when the summer garden opens the hours are extended. Win!
