To do Chatka Ech justice would take a couple of pages; touting the most unique design in town this place has a nutty cottage design that features teddy bears and prams, antiques and oddities and recently won an award for the most beautiful interior in Łódź. To call it original would be an understatement, though peculiarities aside there’s a lot more to this place than meets the eye, including a machine that was used to make metal Solidarność stamps. Home to book signings and readings, concerts and exhibitions, there’s never a shortage of events to plug any conversation gaps, and to top off all that you’ll find an exhaustive selection of teas and coffee – both the expected and the exotic. This summer Chatka Ech will be one of the few places in the city where you can see and buy the paintings of Grzegorz Cichy, an artist who devoted his life's work to portraying Lódź.
