Istambul

Formerly Krokodyl restaurant this Turkish cheapie features some decent lamb kebabs, couscous and Turkish pizza served in a basic, no-frills environment. It’s not going to win gongs for excellence, but it is a step above the benchmark set by the Sphinx dudes. Of note, the restaurant is situated below Julian Tuwim’s former residence and the courtyard is a favoured prayer spot of visiting Jews.

By far the best kebab in town. I believe that this is the only kebab quick eat that gives you a choice of chicken and lamb. In the front of the restaurant is a place to grab a speedy bite, in the back is a proper restaurant that serves up traditional middle eastern cuisine from shish-kebabs to giant steaks...highly recommended
