The main train station (Dworzec Poznań Główny) is opposite the fairgrounds and about 10 minutes by taxi from the Market Square. Your best bet for tourist information is Glob-Tour, a private tourist office-cum-bookshop that sells guides, maps and organises apartment rental. Glob-Tour also exchanges currency. If you are only staying for a couple of hours leave your luggage in the lockers on site. Tram and bus tickets can be bought from the MPK kiosk on the right when leaving the train station building.
Tickets for domestic trains can be bought at windows N°2-14 in the main hall. Some are open 24hrs but due to queues and ongoing re-building work it is recommended that you give yourself plenty of time to get your ticket. Between 00:00 and 04:00 domestic tickets must be purchased near the west entrance of Dworzec Zachodni. If you're running late note that it is possible to purchase tickets on board the train for a small surcharge. International tickets are sold at window N°1 (closed from 00:00-04:00). For English-speaking service check the Customer Information Centre (COK) close to the electronic departures/arrivals board.
Platforms (peron) are reached by heading into the tunnel under the Relay newsagents.
Taxis to the main square will cost around 10-20zł, and there’s always a constant line standing outside. Bus 51 also runs near the city centre (drops at Małe Garbary) with buses leaving every 15 minutes. The service runs from 04:51 to 23:16, and a 15 minute ticket will be enough to get you to town. City tram 13 which runs from 05:18-22:56 Mon-Fri, 05:16-22:56 Sat, and 06:16-22:56 Sun (every 10 minutes during peak hours and three times an hour off-peak) will take you closer to the center at ul. Wrocławska. Alternately the nearest tram stop at Most Dworcowy will take travelers (via trams 8, 14 and 18) to Rondo Kaponiera, where you can switch to trams that will take you to Wrocławska (13,11) and Marcinkowskiego (2,11) near the Market Square. Note that trams run from 05:00 to 23:00. See Public Transport section for ticket purchasing options.
