When we heard new Irish pub Tanners was moving location we were worried. But fear not. The narrow corridored basement has been replaced by a bright and airy two-level bar which would not feel out of place back in Dublin. A live stage for bands upstairs and fiddly-dee jam sessions downstairs twice a week mean that live music is never far away and what’s more there’s a beer garden on its way very soon. Friendly service, 4 screens showing all the sports, and a wide selection beer (Guinness, Kilkenny, Paulaner and Zywiec to name a few) make this new venue a winner. Find it 5 minutes walk from the square.
