Hanami can’t be accused of over-elaborating. The dining space here is unspectacular, with the architect choosing a simple style that involves little more than black seats and walls as white as winter. The preparation area is also not without fault, featuring limited seating and a high bar making it impossible to view the sushi executions conducted below. But there are other reasons to visit, and that’s highly commendable raw fish, as well as a good selection of substantials – we tried the teriyaki chicken, and are more than happy to endorse it.
