Czerwona Papryka

  Stary Rynek 49 ,   Old Town          (+48) 61 855 04 13     17 Jun 2023

A great place to kick-start your evening, Czerwona Papryka rocks a distinct pre-party feel - from the huge black bull welcoming you out front to the lively buzz of chattering patrons and Spanish music found inside. The menu allows you the chance to relive those magical Mediterranean moments with a choice selection of tapas and other dishes to get you in the mood for the night ahead. As you’d imagine, there’s a decent selection of Spanish wine to work through as well, and the bubbly staff are only too willing to keep your glass full.

Marko -Some Spanish beers are as undrinkable as some Polish beers. - About that the don't define themselves as a Spanish restaurant, well, you just need to go their website and see the menu http://www.czerwonapapryka.com.pl/menu.html or learn Polish ;) "hiszpańską kuchnię"

I've been there quite few times so far and have to admit this is one of the best restaurants you can visit at the Poznan old square. Great custommer service, beautiful smiley girls, good wine, great polish beer (remmember, this is not spanish rstaurant, just mix-of, therfore they don't sell spanish beer which is undrinkable anyway) Tapas are good, but if you looking for a proper feast, just go for range of steaks and other meats. Chicken brest with chesse and spinach is simply amazing. Oh yeah, and the prices are just crazy: full meal + beer cost about 4 euros - that's value for money.

I was walking around The Old Square with my friends and decided to drop in for lunch to Czerwona Papryka. It looked quite nice there - the furniture and the bar seemed really welcoming. We ordered some tapas as starters and then main courses as well. Despite of the paella with sea food, which we didnt quite enjoyed, the chickens and steakes were delicous. There is a huge amount of beers to choose from in the menu - unfortunately, none of them are Spanish. Instead, we had some Polish ones and didn't regret our decision. The waiters are really nice and always right on time when you need them. What is more, they speak really good English, so no worries about your order.I think it's a good restaurant with nice food and low prices combined.

I was there eating with my girlfriend last week and my impression was very bad.I am Spanish, 26, and (sadly) I have to say I tasted there the worst red wine and the worst Jamon Serrano (cured jam) in my whole life. Wine is served very cold and is absolutely awful (glass costs 5zl (1.20 eur), no other choice). Cured jam is not a really a true one. It is sold as a Spanish restaurant, but surprisingly there is no spanish beer in the menu.Paella not bad but spicy (why?), is served in a ridiculous small ceramic dish, which makes eating unconfortable. "Tapas" are not served with bread!! and the service is slow and unpleasent - no smiles allowed.Im summary, in you are looking for low prices and very low quality and service, that's your place! What most dissapoints and enerves me is that Polish people will think what Czerwona Papryka offers is real Spanish food. Because it isn't!!The best this place offers is the bull in the entrance!
