Sopot is the centre of Tri-city and summer Poland’s nightlife. While there have been improvements in the options in neighbouring cities, the options here have gone through the roof. This is one huge party zone particularly at the weekends and throughout the summer. It doesn't matter if you're looking for peace or oblivion, Sopot has something to suit everyone. Most of the action is centred around the main drag, Monte Cassino.

Local

Sopot has a reputation, amongst others, as being the seaside capital for the country’s artist crows. Drink with the local beatniks and artistes in Lalala and Spółdzielnia Literacka, or head to Galeria Kinsky to celebrate the life of local hero Klaus Kinski, born in this very house in 1926. Alternatively, head to 3 Siostry for a devil-may-care atmosphere.

Lads

With Language Pub and its Sky Sports box gone head to Sherlock who've picked up the mantle for live football. The lads running it have experience running pubs abroad and they'll keep the beer flowing.

Couples

On Monte Cassino try the Blue Poodle, aka Błekitny Pudel, an atmospheric, antiquarian bar which comes into its element as evening draws in. For a glass of wine, head to Cyrano, a rail-side cottage overseen by a Frenchman.

Splurge

Through the years the Sofitel Grand has hosted names as diverse as Omar Sharif and Marlene Dietrich. Follow in their footsteps by taking cocktails in the hotel bar, Le Bar. Spare some change to join the local yachties, big shots and beauties in the Sheraton’s Rotunda Bar, or do cocktails in Barocco.

All night

Sopot is the capital of the all-nighter. Greet dawn on the beach by drinking in Atelier or mix with the fashionista in Unique. Step the city’s signature building, the Crooked House, and take your pick from the selection of late night bars and clubs found upstairs there including the recommended Zla Kobieta and Ego.
