Possibly the most underrated bar in town especially considering it sits in the centre of the city's nightlife quietly minding its own business. The Blue Poodle is a bit like entering a dream, with cobbled flooring taken by springy armchairs and a gurgling fountain. Grandfather clocks sit next to dusty banjos, and the overall effect feels pleasingly eccentric. Visit at night and the place generates a sleazy decadence that’s just ripe for beery whisperings.
