We’ve heard mumblings of slow service that borders on rude, though that’s gossip as yet unproved by us. If your luck's right you’ll find a decent place, albeit one that annoyingly portrays itself as one of those bar/restaurant/club things. We’re plumping for bar, and quite a decent one at that, though it’s not without its faults. The seating plan favours functionality over friendship, choosing linear arrangements that make mingling impossible, while the crowd is of the shoot-to-kill variety that dreams of Z-list celebrity – if you want to fit in, tart yourself up with sparkles and spangles and a near fatal dose of expensive fragrances. You can’t win them all; to its credit it looks pretty good, with a modern design featuring velvety chairs and a weird curvy ceiling spanning the bar. Nice, but definitely an acquired taste.
