This open-air theatre is nestled in the middle of a serene hilly park in a western district of Sopot. At the moment it is being completely rebuilt; the finishing date was supposed to be January 2011, but the latest news, and its very promising too, is that July 28 has been pencilled in as the new opening date. Hopefully soon it should be returned to its glory days when an audience of 4,200 enjoyed the annual International Song Festival in August which saw big names such as Whitney Houston, Chuck Berry, B.B King, Tina Turner and, er, Chris Rea performing. The Forest Opera is also a good starting point for a number of forest walks, one of which leads into Sopot, another to a splendid viewing point overlooking the bay.
