Dating from 1908 the Eden is acknowledged as being Sopot’s third ever hotel, and the stately mansion seem frozen in time – think doilies, velour bedspreads and threadbare carpets. What’s charming to some (high ceilings! Sea views!) will easily be dated to others (and might not matter if you spend all your time at the beach, which is steps away). The Eden also has an impressive pre-war dining room, which features lots of wood and a grand piano whose ivories have been tickled by piano maestro, Prime Minister and 20th century Polish hero Ignacy Paderewski.
