Sopot now has an aquarium, of sorts, which you can find in a building along the seafront north of the Grand which for many years housed a series of clubs. In fact evidence of its former life is visible in the still to be dismantled bar and disco lights hanging from parts of the ceiling. But don’t let that put you off. While the exhibition is hardly huge, the enthusiasm of the people running it and the interest generated by a few of the exhibits makes this a worthwhile visit if you have half an hour to kill on a rainy afternoon. Along with the genetically engineering goldfish that can’t close their mouths, keep an eye for the tank of fish that nibble away at your skin when you drop your hand into their tank, as you will be encouraged to do.
Admission 14/10zł, family ticket 35zł.
