A literary cafe, but not the sort you’d expect. Noticeable by their absence are unshaven students, bent double over cigarettes and dusty verse. Bookarnia is the antithesis of the cliché cafe, with light, modern fittings and not a puff of smoke in the air. The books are glossy and unbroken, fresh from the printing press, and though they’re numerous in number there’s not so much as a bookmark in English.
