In terms of national importance the institution otherwise known as The Great British Chippy comes somewhere between Churchill and cricket. And rightly so. Now with some seating added, it's well worth the queue to get your hands on their battered cod and chunky chips. This place is the real deal, with extras including peas, curry sauce, malted vinegar and bacon rolls, though the owners will no doubt do their best to see you leave with a deep fried Snickers. We’re firm fans, and homesick Brits should also note they also double as a front for a range of import products: from Scrumpy cider to scrumptious packet food.

For me the best thing about this place is the fact that I can buy British food that you just can't get overseas. If they don't have what you want, they will try and get it for you as they send a van to the UK every week or so. If you are a Brit and you miss those little hard-to-get things from home, I recommend a visit. Oh, they sell 'proper' bacon and sausages too.
I heard about this Fish and Chip shop and set off down to Marszalkowska to see if I could find it. It is hidden away just off the Marszałkowska Square area under an archway, but there is a big signpost in one of the arcades pointing you the right way.The first impressions were very good, it looked like any British Fish & Chip shop you'd find at home, the only difference being a selection of British groceries were also on offer - Marmite, Branston Pickle, Cheddar Cheese and Magners Irish Cider amongst others.I ordered Cod and Chips to give it a taste test. My verdict is that it's as good as many at home, and better than many. The fish was cooked perfectly in British Chippie style and the chips were good too, all helped by the lashings of salt and vinegar that were on hand.I fully recommend this place and will revisit. There is a tiny amount of space to perch yourself and eat, which is handy.
I've been three times and I've been impressed three times. Perhaps this isn't quite as good as my local chippy in England but it's a damn fine effort and infinitely better than any other fish & chips in Poland. The chips could be a touch thinner but that's a hypercritical whine from me.
I had my first take-away from here last night and I must admit that it's pretty good, and very authentic ! Cod and chips twice and I just couldn’t resist a pickled onion. Good food at a fair price. If I was being extremely picky I could say that I prefer my batter to be a little bit more crispy and the chips a little thinner but otherwise an excellent meal served by polite, English speaking staff. Will definitely go back, and next time I’ll sample one of the tea cakes or hot cross buns I saw on offer.
