Pioneers on the craft cocktail scene, Sense was once one of the coolest places in town to eat or drink. Warsaw has moved on and Sense is typically now a place you come to drink rather than dine. The menu’s cheesy labels – soup is simply called “wet,” while appetizers are “foreplay” – are groan-worthy, and the need to label everything as “sensual” is slightly creepy (we asked for the most sensual table in the house upon arrival and were told they were all equally steamy). The food itself has unfortunately become rather hit or miss, though we still like pretty much everything that comes from the wok despite one of our favourite dishes being called “wok n’ roll.’ Sigh.

I was inspired by Sense Cafe last night. A homeless guy sat on the window ledge next to the entrance playing his ghetto-blaster of 1980’s & 1990’s music. What a innovative way to attract your needed customers. On looking more closely the man was showing off his foot full of gangrene also which made me want to vomit.
I know this Harry (cannot be many people in Warsaw called Harry) and I fully support Eric’s comment. Sense – it’s on its last legs from what I see.
Eric nailed it. Was that award linked to an advert from them?
Siobhan – every village has an idiot as the saying goes. Harry is the well known Warsaw idiot. Sense was once a great place but no longer.
Does Harry work for Sense? Because that's the only explanation I can come up with for his persistent defence of a place whose food and atmosphere is utterly defenceless.
Interesting that last night Sense was awarded the title 'Best cocktails in Warsaw' (after being voted that by the Professionals in Warsaw group). It seems that the people who actually live in Warsaw know the truth about Sense.
Dear Harry in WARSAW
Thanks for your comment. For the record Sense have not advertised with In Your Pocket for a few years now and the comments which have been received for them have been exclusively negative for the past year. We have been archiving some which appeared to have been written by someone with a vendetta against Sense and was not leaving a valid email address.
Unfortunately there have not been any positive comments about Sense for some time. And In Your Pocket has a clear distinction between the editorial content of our guides and website and the advertising. Whether a place advertises or not we pride ourselves on the complete independence of our writers' views. This isn't a policy which we believe is shared by most of our competitors in the 26 countries where we have a presence.
Funny that Sense is still excellent but ever since they pulled their IYP adverts you've been approving only negative comments. What a co-incidence!
It looks scruffy and shabby these days with all the graffiti on the outside walls!
5* hotel prices poor location (busy bus stop right outside).
Sense is the only EMPTY eating and drinking establishment on Nowy Świat during the long hot summer afternoons and evenings.
In its day Sense was the gem of an eating and drinking establishments in Warsaw. Today Sense finds itself in need of an urgent revamp refit as it struggles to cope with the competition of 1001+ eating and drinking establishments in Warsaw.
Very disappointing. The tramp staring through the window at my girlfriend, while he was hovering around the bus stop outside didn’t help matters. I won't be taking clients to Sense during Euro 2012, that's for sure.
Highly recommended – your joking In Your Pocket! The food is well below par these days and the busy bus stop directly outside the place doesn’t do it any favours.
Sense isn’t as good as it was. The food is got worse over the last couple of years. Warsaw has so many better eating establishments and Sense is past its sell by date!
