Magda Gessler (the host of the Polish version of Hell’s Kitchen) delivers everything you’d expect from an Italian restaurant with a celebrity chef’s name: attentive service, perfectly proportioned pastas and over-the-top décor that features classic photos of Italian film stars. Gar’s crispy thin-crust pizzas and creamy tortellinis are impressively priced for the quality. And don’t let Sophia Loren’s smouldering gaze distract you from ordering the bistecca alla Florentina, a bone-in steak that appears to be the hottest item in the resataurant (apologies to Sophia).
