Café Bristol

Join the upper echelons of society in this premium priced cafe. The chequered swing era decor wouldn’t be out of place in The Great Gatsby, and comes complete with pretty waitresses ferrying coffee and pastries to rich Americans.

If you don't mind the smell of stale cigarette smoke from the night before, this cafe can be a very pleasant experience. I have been going there since the Bristol reopened in the early 1990's (or whenever it reopened). I have found it a good place for a pre-dinner drink with business associates before you go into one of the hotel restaurants. Most of the patrons are business sorts, but I have in more recent years gone dressed down in linen pants and a blouse and felt just fine. The cafe is known for its King's Apple drink, which is nice on a late fall afternoon. The food menu is limited, but the sandwiches are a good substitute for a full dinner when you're not that hungry.
