Completed in 1896 this neo-gothic edifice will be familiar to anyone with a keen interest in the Holocaust. Situated in the heart of the ghetto the church was spared destruction while the streets surrounding it were turned into a sea of bricks. It was torched after the 1944 Uprising, though was sufficiently restored to hold its first post-war mass in 1947.
