Spiz comes decked out like a Chinese laundry – what with all the sinister pots and pipes – and is nowadays remarkable only for the staff; often engaged in open hostilities with the patrons who pay their wages. But that bothers no-one, and a free table here is a rarity. A bubbling beer hall atmosphere prevails throughout this cellar, and the acoustics are often drowned out by pub DJs playing sing-along hits for the benefit of German pensioners. There’s four house beers to pick from, and to be fair none of them are all that good. This place is yesterday's news, and the opening of Bierhalle is the proof.

This review is absolute nonsense and wrong. WRONG!Nothing you say resembles anything that I experienced just yesterday. Quiet surrounding. Beautiful decor. The MOST SENSATIONAL BEER I, or any of my guests, ever tasted. And one of my guests MAKES her own beer. She is a beer expert and lover and admitted that the light beer we had (among others) was the best she had EVER tasted. And there are MORE than just four beers. Light, Dark, Strong, Honey, Caramel and Wheat. The food and service were top notch, as well. We had a great time. And we are HARD TO PLEASE! Get with the program INYOURPOCKET. This is not the first mistake I've caught that you made but just the most gross one.SPIZ IS GREAT!!!!!
