As renovation work continues all around it, this legendary three-floor complex remains open and popular as ever. With three bars and two dance-floors, the vaguely menacing industrial interior of metal piping rattled by the booming sound system regularly packs out with clubbers hell bent on hedonism, most of whom look like they've just come back from the Happy Shop. Metropolis is often the scene of tribute nights - everything from Depeche Mode to Madonna, so keep an eye peeled for the flyers plastered all over town to get the latest. Expect a cover on weekends. Be advised that the club may close down for renovations at some point during this guide's shelf life, though nothing was confirmed at press time.
