There’s a deluge of Mexican eateries in Wrocław, and their popularity continues to embarrass us. Sadly, this is the only one that gets it right, thanks to Frederick Abrams - a California native who's done the unthinkable and introduced quality Mexican food to the city, no doubt acting on his own outrage upon trying the competition. On offer are a line of fajitas, tacquitos and burritos, made with authentic ingredients like fresh corn tortillas, real cheddar cheese, Mexican rice and black beans; there's even delicious Mexican coffee. In addition to Tex-Mex, the menu also includes fusion-inspired tapas inventions to complement the fine world wine list. Located inside an evocative 13th century defensive tower, discover this three-level historic building discreetly tucked in a courtyard off ul. Piaskowa, one gate removed from Hala Targowa. If there is a group of you phone ahead to make a reservation.

I'm a fairly regular visitor. Lots of changes, in chefs, in menus, this place is always surprising, always something no one else is doing. Now they have the first Tapas menu in town, but a funny one: Tempura, Octopus, mini burritos, Thai curry AND fajitas!!! Bottom line, they're playing with spices, herbs and exotic flavors and even in beers they now have, some lesser known labels, unpasturized beers made here in Poland, one wheat, another honey flavoured, very aromatic. And I saw Corona. Maybe they were out of it. Sh*t happens, especially here in Poland.
Visited this lovely, if not on the small side, place on Staurday 26th June, strange that they now do not serve Mexican beer !!! or Fajitas !!!!, despite this food was most excellent ....and very reasonably priced too. well worth a visit.
Nah, no wall climbing required if you enter from Piaskowa by a huge red brick building at the river. Just look for the two pharmacies side-by-side with big flashing blue and red crosses and walk through the passage between them. There you'll find an old tower in a courtyard. The Mexican food is second to none in this side of the planet but that's not all! They've also got a delicious menu of "global tapas" from tempura to calamares a la romana.
Nice atmosphere, world music playing softly in the background. Went there with my girl friend, we had some delicious mexican food and tasty wine. It's a none smoking place which I like. However they offer shisha on ground floor which was nice together with an Irish coffee. Very romantic place - unfortunately hard to find. Once you've passed the wall, you'll be delighted.
I was just there on Tuesday night. They're open again every evening after 6 except Monday. Our waiter said that a wine shop will be opening soon on the bar floor so they may be open in the daytime as well. I went there having read the great things IYP says as does another tourist guide I'm traveling with. Things have changed, however, from their menu. Now they're serving lovely small dishes from around the world, what they call "Global Tapas." I had a strange but very satisfying combination of Japanese tempura, Thai salad and Spanish Patatas Alioli. My son ordered a large quesadilla from their usual Mexican menu and my wife had their full course burrito plate which lived up to expectations. We finished our evening with with a delicious apple/raspberry burrito for dessert which I think they should patent! My only complaint is a problem they had with the credit card terminal so I'd advise bringing along some cash. Also, a very intriguing, unusual place that's hard to find so study the map on their website carefully, but you'll be rewarded with a comfy home like atmosphere if one can imagine living inside of a medieval tower!
I devoured a DELICIOUS burrito...and with green salsa imported from Mexico. A bit disappointing I first came on a weekday to discover that they're only open Friday and Saturday evenings except by group reservation. The waitress said there's some problems with construction in the neighborhood blocking the main entry and that a lot of people miss it cause most everything's around the city's beautiful market square. But it's only a maybe seven minute walk away from there and it's got a laid back charm I've not found anywhere else in Wroclaw. If you want to find a weekend place that's not packed and smoke filled, that's got lovely waitresses serving you and home comforts, and authentic tasting Mexican food of the highest quality, I most highly recommend it!
Been traveling through Central Europe and as a Mexican food addict from San Diego where there's Mexican eateries seemingly on every corner, it's hard to find anything satisfying whenever I travel. I can't say it's exactly what we know down here but from what I've seen, as in Jack Nicholson's film, it's about as good as it gets. We met the owner, also from California, who explained that there's no cheddar cheese there as we know it. He uses a Polish cheddar that's smoked, an interesting twist on expected flavors. Says it's hard to find creamy avocados as well but never found anywhere else that's using fresh cilantro (coriander) or makes their own chips from imported corn tortillas. AND they don't use those horrible mass produced "taco shells" that are so popular that have no flavor at all. And can't say enough about the green salsa! PERFECTO! Only prob is finding the tower's door but it's worth the hassle!
