Seems things have gone downhill a bit since this place was opened over 700 years ago, making it the first beer cellar in Europe. Named after the Schweidnitz (Świdnica) beer brewed in the basement back in those days, today it serves primarily as an effective tourist trap where the labyrinth of historic Town Hall vaults lure unwitting visitors into ordering rather average overpriced traditional food served by uncaring staff. Nonetheless an Old Town landmark, and well worth a look at the very least.

We ate and drank in the cellar bar and loved it! The bartender and waiter were extremely friendly and patient with us since we knew no Polish. We drank the local beer and tried several types of Polish Vodka. We also ate perogies, which were delicious. We had a great time and would go again. The atmosphere is fantastic!
If you are in Wroclaw DO NOT EAT in this restaurant. Very bad service, ignoring you, rude when you ask the questions, not caring about your comfort. Food was not fresh and tasting nothing. Very expensive and no quality. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!
This is a place that has decent atmoshpere based on the "historic experience" and then it pretty much goes downhill from there. I was there on a rainy night in August and the restaurant in the cellar was not very busy but the staff hardly paid any attention to the customers there. It took forever to get waited on, served drinks and then receive our food. When the food arrived, it was NOT worth the wait. I can only remember that the "KLUSKIE" were dry and tasteless and forgot about what else I ate there. My cousin had potato and cheese pierogi and they were very good though. I will not return to this place on my next trip...
Last night I had THE worst restaurant experience of my life. I had a dinner at "Swidnicka Restaurant". The food was ok, but what had absolutely exceeded the norm was the service. Lazy, confused, inattentive, rude! Only if you are a zen master you might be fitted to take that much of offense. Otherwise, spare your nerves and eat somewhere else.
