Huts
A battalion of mountain huts litter the Tatras. Many can only be reached after a long hike (sleigh ride during the winter) or, as can happen, by getting completely lost. During the high seasons it's essential to book ahead (by telephoning the hut in question or dealing with a local travel agency) as space can be limited. Although mountain huts are obliged to put a roof over anybody’s head no matter what time of year you may just get a mattress on the floor.
