The Tatra National Park, just south of Zakopane, is accessible by foot through any of the numerous entrance gates where you have to pay the nominal daily entrance fee. You are not allowed to deviate from the marked trails. Climbers can only go with a certified mountain guide. The park information office has hiking maps for the entire park area.
