Kornel Makuszyński Museum [Muzeum Kornela Makuszyńskiego]

Poland’s equivalent of Winnie-the-Pooh was a series of tales about an adventurous billy goat called Koziołek Matołek. Loved by children and adults alike, our hero came from the mind and the pen of the Polish author Kornel Makuszyński (1884-1953), who spent the final years of his life living in this house. Now a museum dedicated to the life and work of the great man, find six small rooms full of Makuszyński-related bits and pieces. Of particular interest among the scores of paintings, folk art and wonderful old furniture are a plaster cast of the author’s hand, a collection of paintings of the goat done by children and some amazing and slightly spooky pre-war copies of Koziołek Matołek books in Yiddish.

Admission 6/4,50zł, Sun free.
