Recycling

The Estonian Green Movement played a key role in the fight for independence, but its ideas are still catching on in everyday life. Plastic bottles are virtually unrecyclable (but eminently reusable) in Estonia. The best way to recycle glass bottles is to leave them beside (not in!) a public trash can. We guarantee an enterprising local will pick them up within a few minutes. Bring paper and cardboard to large green containers marked ‘vanapaber ja papp’ located at most Statoil stations.
