Housed in an historic 300-year-old building near the river, this colossal brewery and restaurant on two floors is so popular with locals that a reservation is nearly a requirement at the weekend. Order litres and litres of delicious beer brewed on the premises as well as huge portions of Czech and Latvian cuisine including its signature dishes – roast duck and crispy pork knuckle. Children are kept busy by an in-house entertainer, while adults can watch live sports on dozens of flat screens that seem to be attached to nearly every surface (even the urinals!).

A big Munich style beer hall, but, at the same time, a very Russian atmosphere. The singalong nights (Thursday - Saturday) can be amusing, be sure to reserve a table. Also watch them saw apart a roasted pig. The beer brewed on the premises is decent, three different varieties, the dark one being the best one. Place can get pretty noisy though, the waitresses can be hard to hear...

A huge entertainment complex with nightly music, dancing and a show on stage. Part of the chain from Ukraine, it is an interesting spot. A bit pricey, but entertaining. Solid food, with Czech home brew on site. Quite the fun evening. Take a beer tour with the brewmaster. Very nice hostess and good service. Enjoy the men's toilet where you can urinate on the tv screens!
