Otopeni Airport to Gara de Nord

The best way to get from Otopeni Henri Coanda to Gara de Nord is to take a taxi. The journey will cost around 120 lei if you take one of the airport taxis which sit outside arrivals, considerably less if you call a taxi from a standard Bucharest taxi company, such as Meridian (tel. 021 9444) or Cris Taxi (tel. 021 9461).  

If you insist on using public transport, you can choose the bus: take bus 780 direct, or the train. A new service links the airport to Gara de Nord every hour, though the airport's station is a short bus ride from arrivals. Buy tickets (costing 6.00 lei, one-way; half price for kids) from the well-signposted booths tour left as you exit baggage claim. The whole journey takes around 55 minutes and in the rush hour is a good option.

To get from Otopeni to Baneasa airport, take bus 780 or 783, or a taxi (it should take 20 minutes or so, and the taxi should not cost more than 40 lei).
