Mojo

Mojo
Three level extravaganza of a venue. On the ground floor is the pub, upstairs is the most popular karaoke venue in the land, while downstairs in the cavernous cellar there is live music, and then some. In a nutshell, this place sets the standard for nights out in Old Town. The beer is a decent price, the crowd a mix of ages and nationalities and the manager is a top bloke who makes a point of being nice to his customers. When ace local bands are not playing, the resident Mojo band usually is. Also now puts on regular quiz nights and live British stand-up comedy too. Top notch.

While my impression of the place had been seriously biased by the lack of crowd the first (and only) time I went there and having been invited by a group of friends that generally prefer El Grande Comandante/Expirat/B52/Club A/[insert generic cheap crowded commercial rock-pop club] to my own Kristal/Studio Martin proposals, I recall quite fondly the solid B+ shots and cocktails, which are a very pleasant change from the crap they serve as shots/cocktails in the above mentioned cheapo student/office drone establishments, to which I initially likened Mojo. That being said, I'm quite tempted to give it another chance when I get back to Romania, due to this guide's recommendations and the aforementioned good shots/cocktails (which while definitely not a rarity in Romania as compared to, say, Poland, are the main criterion I evaluate a bar/club on, besides the music). PROTIP - if you share my fondness of awesome shots (of the yummy and/or strong varieties), which Mojo more than adequately caters to, I would highly recommend Base Cafe and wherever the awesome bartenders from Mamaia's Kudos Beach Club work during off-season (currently Garcea @ Barocco Afterhours and Virgil formerly at The Gate, now at a new place called Zebra or somesuch, around Marriott) - tell them Vadim sent you to try the shots and tip them well, you'll be amazed by the sheer awesomeness of some of their creations!

i'm the sound guy from BADDIES who played there last night - what a cool place! The staff looked after us and made us feel totally at home. I myself had a brilliant time; just a shame we had to fly home so early in the morning otherise i would have stayed all night. If you are in a band, pester your manager/booking agent to get you a gig at this place...seriously, you won't regret it. Always big crowds, great atmosphere and great people, and best of all, everyone is so friendly!cheers to all at Mojo, you guys rock!Dog

Was here on Friday together with all of my work colleagues, including the BOSS. We had a wonderful time! Like always when the MOJO band is on stage! The singer is absolutely FANTASTIC! People would not let him leave the stage! MOJO CLUB is a MUST for everyone living in Bucharest or just visiting!

It is a great venue, well worth a visit if in Bucharest, over the weekend it seems to have a really good mixed crowd which never seems to tire out even at 6 in morning. Well done the boys
