Their progressive rock sound, to which they incorporated folk, blues, classical and jazz influences, doesn’t resemble anything else. Formed as a death metal band in 1990, in Sweden, they used as an inspiration for the name of the band the word “Opet” from the novel The Sunbird, by Wilbur Smith, representing a fictional Phoenician city in South Africa, translated in the book as City of the Moon. Creativity is, after all, what made this band different from others, so Opeth couldn’t have been just a random name. This is their first concert in Romania. Heritage, the album they are promoting, is their 10th. Concert starts 19:00. Tickets 85 lei – 95 lei from www.eventim.ro.
