Avalon

Another restaurant goes totally non-smoking. Slowly, but surely, the smoke-free revolution is taking hold in Bucharest. At Avalon, the fresh air is welcome as it allows diners to really enjoy the flavours and smells of the superb Fusion cuisine. Every time we visit (and we visit as often as we can) we find something new and interesting - and usualy inventive - on the menu, and a good wine to go with our meal. The Sunday Brunch is excellent value and a good introduction to the place for those on a bit of a budget.

Excellent food, great dish arrangements and combinations of ingredients! Good wine list, fair prices (considering the location). Excellent service as expected for such a restaurant. They used to organize fresh seafood Fridays, I'm not sure they still do that. The ambiance is nice, although the tables are a little too crowded (I wonder why, since I've never seen more that a few tables busy) and the smells from the neighboring Benihana Japanese tepan restaurant are a bit disturbing. They change menus seasonally, so there are strong reasons to return here!
