Other places may come and go, but this one has been first class for well over seven years now. Every year they come up with new, sharper menus (the current one stars a glorious duck confit) meaning you have no excuse not to go as often as you can afford it. The lovely, high-ceilinged indoor dining room is a joy in which to dine. All round, superb.

This has been my favourite for 7 years but has now dropped the crown. Went to check out the new Italian chef. Menu the same. Ordered an old favourite: pate. I remember this being delicious and accompanied by a very tasty confiture. Not now, bland and, my guess, would be shop bought. The comfiture was bog standard jam from a jar. One of Arcades highlights was always the warm fresh bread buns with little pots of butter: none now. Main dish (seafood) was almost too salty to eat. Its not a cheap restaurant so standards should be high. Its off my list now, sadly.
This is definitely one of my favorite Bucharest restaurants. The terrace is lovely even in the hottest day (and boy it can be really hot in Bucharest!) with flowers and stuff. The service is really excellent, they merely changed one staff in 3 years, so everybody knows the menu d'a capo al fine and they know what to do.The food is great and most important is constant in quality. You don't have to discretely ask the waiter who's in the kitchen to decide if you'll have pasta or meat. They have redecorated the interior earlier this year and although I liked the old look better, the atmosphere is cozy with walls decorated with paintings for sell belonging to various Romanian artists. Warmly recommended!
