We have always loved Trattoria Buongiorno, and have quickly become big fans of its new location in the Old Town. Decent Italian food (there is a small but good selection of fish dishes which are well worth looking out for). and one of the biggest and busiest terraces in Bucharest make it a seriously good eat and watch the world go by type place. (And at weekends, it can feel like the whole city is going by).

This restaurant has been lowering both its food and service standards as time has passed by, being quite good when it was acquired by the actual owners (the owners of City Grill chain/Caru cu Bere). This was somehow predictable since the prices went off more than 25%. They kept the silverware, table-linen and plates for a few months, but they dropped the napkins last year. The staff is uneven with respect to skills and attitude, although they are quite helpful. For example, during one very hot summer day, around noon, we wanted to swim against the stream and have lunch inside. We were the only table there, they turnend on the air conditioning no questions asked - don't laugh! because a few other locations with pretensions plainly refused to do that for a mere single table! The food is not that good anymore, Italian with no special twist. Service is a little slow, so lunch is not the best choice during the weekdays.
poor service and poor food
Terrible, terrible, terrible. Unfortunately. Location is great, terrace is nice and building very pretty....but...service is snail-like (waited over an hour for lunch yesterday and 25 minutes of that before they even brought drinks), salads are awful - their caesar salad is a very poor excuse and when we complained that it was just lettuce, some poorly grilled chicken and a pepper based sauce that tasted of....pepper and nothing else, the waiter simply replied, 'that's what we call caesar salad'. Have given it two chances just because it's close and should be good, but it just isn't.
