The smell of the wooden fixtures and fittings could convince you that you're in the countryside, not metres away from the city centre. Portions are good, the food tastes super (good smoked meats, such as the smoked sausage and white beans, and lovely fresh sarmale) and all have a personal touch to their taste. Prices are more than reasonable. The live, loud folk band add to the party atmosphere.

  I see I'm not the only one who received check for the dishes not ordered in this place. Additionally, food was just mediocre. My advice - avoid.

  We're not going to come back again to this restaurant. We got a recommendation from a friend of us but the service was awful and actually they charged us for many dishes which were not in the menu. After all, we pay 4 times more than the bill we expected and they still wanted a tip... incredible.

  For some reason I do not like this place. It might be the insitutionalized theft, like at its sister venue on Calea Mosilor. Or the overdecorated hall making "kitsch" sound nice. Dishes are OK generally, if one sticks to the basics (i.e. traditional Balkanic stuff), but for that price I would anytime go to Vatra instead.
