This small place serves very good Balkanic dishes, and they got good market with three hotels without a restaurant nearby (the Central, the Opera and the Carpati). The cold platters are very nicely set, the mici are some of the best in Bucharest restaurants (save for the La Cocosatu'), while for the main courses it can only compete with La Berbecu' (maybe we shall have a listing here for this restaurant, IYP?), Jaristea and Nicoresti.Alex

Having tried the Casa Gorjana in the same street we were wary about trying another tradional Romanian restaurant. If you want to try tradional Romanian fare you need go no further. This restaurant is everything the Gorjana isn't. Unpretentious, welcoming with good food which is reasonably priced. The menu is in both Romanian and English, however, friendly waiters will help you understand the dishes and recommend wine from the good selection available. Be prepared for a little wait whilst they cook your food, but its well worth it and do save room for the dessert!Veronica and David Nudd
