Uneven pavements are terrible if you’re in a wheelchair, and all forms of public transport are totally inaccessible to all but the fittest.

Expect only upmarket hotels to offer disabled facilities.

Though EU laws are doing their level best, the fact remains that this is not a country for the disabled to visit just yet. Romania in fact treats most of its own disabled people - either physically or mentally - with little more than disdain.
