Delightful French patisserie cafe with a bright pink interior covered with porcelain plates, cups and saucers that you just want to take home. Mouthwatering sweet treats and savoury bakes. Breakfast in this intimate yet energetic haven is a must. While the Maroseika location has the repose of a drawing room, their outlet near Mayakovskaya (ul. Bolshaya Sadovaya 2/46) is like a bakery free-for-all. Its counter service for starters and then it is like musical stools as to whether or not you can get a spot to sit at the large communal table. Either that or hole up in the window seat with the bright covered cushions (only for those who practise yoga). There is a wonderful irony that you pay over the odds for a cappucino and then need to sit on top of strangers to drink it but somehow you learn to live with it.
