Terem Crossover Competition
In their repertoire, everything from classical music to re-arranged movie themes. In their hands, Russian instruments: a balalaika, accordion and domras. Terem Quartet are the city’s best loved all-Russian folk band and they have put their name and influence behind this first competition of international folk music in St. Petersburg. The main rules of the contest are that the instruments must be instrumental and the ensembles should consist of no more than seven people. Dozens of groups from across the world have already confirmed their attendance with Japanese, British, French and Israeli contenders all preparing to battle it out to be crowned the first Terem champions.
