All lovers of the medieval and pagan festivities should not miss this unique annual event at the ancient Finnish/Russian town of Vyborg. The May tree celebrations continue from dusk till dawn within the walls of the old castle. As well as having the chance to listen to traditional local folk music from all over the region, there’ll be Celtic dancing, theatre shows, archery competitions, and traditional handicrafts made by local craftsmen on sale. The festivities go on all night until 05:00 May 30. GETTING THERE: Bus 850 leaves regullary from metro Devyatkino and Parnas and takes around 3 hours.
