You'll feel yourself very Russian indeed if you find yourself at this folkshow performance. Staged in two parts, the performance takes place in the restored and pleasant surrounds of the Nikolayevsky Palace. Starting with a peasant chorus who serenade the crowd, they are followed by around two hours of singing, dancing, sword tricks and general mayhem that  will have tourists clapping in unison in no time.  Seating is unreserved so it's a first come first seated affair. This can be a blessing when those in the front row are hauled up onstage for some lighthearted Russian dance tuition.
