We stayed at the Bolshaya Morskaya Randhouse just last week, June 20-22, 2006. This is a very good value with an excellent location. The rooms are clean and you have the run of the common area after 6:00 PM. They prepare breakfast in the morning. We walked all over central Petersburg from the hotel. We flew from Moscow into St. Petersburg and Alex met us at the airport. He speaks excellent English and if you wish, can arrange tickets, tours etc. He also drove us back to the airport at 5:30 AM the day we left. He is reliable and full of information. Try Oliva's Greek restuarant at 31 Bolshaya Morskaya. The Hermitage is good, if you like to come to Russia and see Western European art. If you want to see Russian art, go to the Russian Museum. It is less crowded and the art is excellent.
