Named after the Armenian region within Turkey, this Caucasian restaurant is popular among the Armenian diaspora in St. Petersburg, who can often be seen here celebrating family holidays. Comprising six halls, Kilikia serves up all the Armenian favorites, including
khourma,
shashlyk, and
tava plates (a kind of stew). All are excellent. The breads come from their own stone oven, which also doubles up to keep the place toasty on cold winter evenings.
