St. Petersburg’s first governor, Menshikov, allegedly fished in the same spot as this wooden restaurant on Krestovsky Island 300 years ago. These days, guests at ‘Russian Fishing,’ can try their hand angling from ponds packed with sturgeon and trout. The cooks will smoke or bake your catch on hot coals. Russians seem to think this is a good place to impress guests from out of town and Putin brought French President Jacques Chirac here.
