Quite nice B & B. Clean, modest prices, 5 min walking distance to next metro station, situated at the Fontanka Channel. Somewhat noisy traffic during rush hours. Little 24 h shop right at the corner, kitchen use possible. Would come back again next time.Eberhard Germany 05-08-2008
My husband and I are just back from St Petersburg ( 7 - 12 June) where we stayed at the Swiss Star. We found it very comfortable and the staff were pleasant and helpful. We had a large ensuite room which had a fully tiled shower room and comfy bed. Yes there was street noise if you had the window open but, if like us you had walked around all day, you had no difficulty in sleeping. Breakfast was substantial with coffee and tea available all day. Would not hesitate to use it again.Liz McLaren Scotland

Don't believe what you read. The ownership might be Swiss, but the attitude and customer service are definately Russian. It is located on very busy streets and the traffic noise will keep you up all night. If you have any concerns that need addressed, the owner is either too busy to help or you are given, "This is Russia" as a response. There are several properties in the city for this price range and I would suggest you look at others before settling for this one.Aaron Czech Republic
