It's usually cold and wet in winter and often warm and dry in summer, but, unfortunately, you never really know. On the bright side every season has its charms. Try walking across the beach of the North Sea (at low tide!) during a spring or autumn storm. Visit a sunny street market in summer or have a snowball fight in a wintry park. Whatever the weather, the Dutch will always find a reason to complain about it and if you’re ever short on subjects to talk about with a Dutchman, then the rather trivial statement Lekker weer, (nice weather, don’t you think?) is probably sufficient to get him started on a long and wordy rant.
