One of several modern hostels occupying newly renovated apartments in Niš, Downtown is a fine example. The fully equipped kitchen, lounge and rooms are all colourful and tastefully decorated. Add to that a few nice freebies (towels, tea/coffee) and the good location on the riverbank in the centre, and you have all the ingredients for a very good hostel. 50m from Trg Kralja Milana.

This was by far one of the best hostels I've stayed in! The staff is wonderful- - very friendly and helpful and full of fun. The hostel was nice, clean, very pleasant and very conveniently located right next to the main downtown pedestrian area and Nis' fortress.
This is actually the first time i want to go on internet and write a review on a hostel. I could name all the things that pleasantly surprise a backpacker at the first sight – colorful, stylish interior with attention to details, everything being really clean and tidy and open-minded and friendly personnel. But what makes this hostel a really great experience is owners’ enthusiasm and love for the thing they’re up to. Besides if you get lucky this might not end up only as a hostel experience but you’ll be offered a tour to amazing spots outside Nis known to the locals accompanied with ironic and non exaggerated view on the local customs and serbian lifestyle. And if you get really, really lucky you might even be taken to kafana in a small village named “Man with moustache” where you can have delicious traditional meal which will leave you feeling full for the next few days. So be friendly and know what to ask for!;)

Downtown Hostel is a great place to stay in Niš! It is cozy, renovated, neat, in the very heart of the city. The hosts are extremely nice people - friendly and ready to support. To all people willing to stay in Niš I would candidly say: "Spare any further searches and have great time at Downtown Hostel!".

Hands down the best hostel I've ever stayed at, I dare you to find a place with better customer service and interaction, as well as price and accommodation. The location is great, the rooms and bathroom were spotless and highly maintained. A lot of time and effort went into this hostel, I would plan a trip around the availability of rooms here, they were quiet but at the same time warm and friendly, the common area is a great way to spend the last few hours of the day, chatting it up.
I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Nis. It's like a home away from home.
