The 38th International Film Festival, Belgrade
February 19-28
Belgrade’s 38th International Film Festival will introduce 60 new feature films from all over the world and welcome more than 50 special guests - renowned directors, actors, producers and critics.
Three venues will show the films. They are: Sava Centre, the Belgrade Cultural Centre and the Yugoslav Film Archive.
The festival will also feature five different theme categories, which are:
Horizons – a selection of some of the best new films which have already been shown at other new prestigious festivals, such as Cannes, Venice, Berlin, Toronto and Pusan, among others.
Lighthouse – featuring work from up and coming new film makers.
FantAsia – a selection of thought-provoking films from Asia
Facts and Puzzles – featuring some of the most vibrant documentary films that have been released recently.
Europe out of Europe – a competition category consisting of eight new films from European countries that are not yet members of the European Union.
A special programme of films entitled ‘Focus on Israel!’
The festival’s schedule of films will be announced on January 15, with tickets available from February 1.
The 38th FEST is sure to prove to be one of the Belgrade cultural calendar’s most inspiring events of 2010.
