St Mark’s Church

Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra 17     more than a year ago

Serbia has no shortage of religious buildings, and Belgrade’s Church of St. Mark is without doubt one of its most striking. This Serbo-Byzantine beauty is located in Tašmajdan Park and was built in 1940, and it stood tall as the largest Serbian church until work resumed on the Church of St. Sava. The interior is full of the usual frescoes and icons, with the work of some of Serbia’s most beloved painters adorning the walls.
