It's the best to drink and eat home and to go a few minutes before the midnight to Trg Svobode in Maribor and listen to Alfi Nipič. :D

Best place to spend the New year's evening is Presernov trg in Ljubljana. Lots of people, lots of different kind of music, lots of christmas light, beautiful christmas tree...fun!
